I tried Cava wine for the first time about four years ago. I had decided that I wanted to start trying different kinds of wine, so Cava was one of the ones that I tried out for myself. As soon as I had my first glass, I really liked this type of wine, and knew that it was something that I could enjoy on a regular basis. Once I finished my first bottle of Cava, I decided that instead of automatically trying out a different kind of wine, I would rather try another (but different) bottle of Cava. Although I still try other types of wine on a regular basis, Cava has definitely become my drink of choice.
If you aren’t familiar with Cava wine, I would be happy to give you a little background information on it. Cava is a sparkling wine which is made in Spain. I think the reason that Cava tastes so good is because it is made with the same method that is used to make Champagne (although Champagne is a sparkling wine from France instead of Spain).
Although you may not be real familiar with this type of wine, it has been around since the end of the nineteenth century. However, it has only been called Cava since the 1970s. The reason that Cava earned its name is because Cava means cellar in Spanish, and that is where this type of wine is aged and fermented in the bottle.
